Whoever said passive investing is a joke doesn’t understand passive investing. Anyone can be a winner in a bull market. Try crushing the s and p 500 by nearly double over the course of 16 years through 2 recessions and I’ll have respect for you.
Liquid because I can turn it into cash with the click of a button. Got 16 years to go and then I’m out of the rat race. Exponential growth in full effect baby!!
So what’d you invest in? This is cool, nicely done.
do you buy individual stocks or mutual and index funds?
All Index. Mix of large, mid, small caps and rebalance quarterly. The trick is to massively increase DCA amounts during downturns. Acts like nitrous
What are DCA amounts?
The only way to get the best possible price for your investments https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dollar_cost_averaging

is re balancing a taxable event?
33.3% s and p 500, 33.3% s and p 400, 33.3% Russell 2000
that is seriously impressive !! consistently beating s&p for 16 years !! what platform do you use?
Personal capital for the aggregate view. Otherwise a hodgepodge of accounts that I’ve strung together over the years.
After listening to the Freakanomics guys talk about the actual statistics of passive vs managed, I immediately rebalanced to almost all passive! Curious: I have an investment account with about $90k in it, and I get calls (from the company that has that account) trying to pitch me various products... Do they absolutely hound you, given that you have $1.6mil sitting passively?!
Why not just untick the "contact me" option
Ugh, that’s so much work...
Liquid because you sold?
