I failed in some JavaScript interviews. Though I have been studying general JavaScript interview question over internet, but the actual questions asked in interviews are very different. Any good resources to practice JavaScript for real interviews in companies like google, Uber, Netflix, Apple.
By “very different “, what do you mean by that?
Udemy has a course on interviewing in Js.
Functional Programming, Promises, Advanced HTML5/CSS3 and NodeJS knowledge. Up to date knowledge on framework wars. Most important is making fast, usable web apps. Besides JS they’ll check for strong developer fundamentals like distributed systems, databases, networking, bash/Unix, etc. During my interview I bootstrapped a fast NodeJS/React app consuming a pre-existing REST api on a laptop, did whiteboard design of a Google Calendar clone, and did coding challenges using promises and efficient algos. I don’t really recommend books. I learned JS mostly from articles on HN and YouTube videos. And trial and error building my own projects. Douglas Crockford’s “Good Parts” is the bible of JS. Also specifically at Uber we want entrepreneurial individuals, not just good coders. So having a compelling and successful life story is helpful. Good luck!
JavaScript is the popular programming language of the web. The high-level, interpreted programming language follows a multi-paradigm approach. As such, it has several traits of functional programming. If you take a look at the Stackoverflow Developer Survey 2018, you will find that JavaScript tops the list of the most preferred programming language for the 6th consecutive year. Almost 70% of all the respondents of the Stackoverflow survey state that they have been using JS for their day-to-day development chores. Hence, following a career path in JavaScript development is lucrative. What’s the specific position? Also usually the recruiters at these companies are willing to tell you what you may be interviewed over. Did they give you that info? There’s tons of resources but maybe I can help you narrow it down.
I am a front-end developer, have experience with Angular 1 and 2+ with ES 5 and ES 6. The recruiters help by telling that if the interview round will be a Data structure or JavaScript or HTML/CSS or design. I am finding that DS rounds I am clearing since I did Leetcode but JS round I am not. For eg questions involving solving a JS problem using concept of bind/call/apply or closure or IIFE etc. I know these concepts well theoretically but I am looking for problems that I can solve using these. Since that’s what is asked in interviews.
So I actually find that just googling JavaScript interview questions covers a lot of what you’re talking about. Also I think react makes better use of bind than angular but I’m not sure how familiar you are with react. I don’t think you will find any problems online but there are really good resources like.
