Apart from TC, how's SumoLogic as an engineering company? Do you think it's a good time to join the company? The recruiter told me that they are hoping to go for an IPO in next 2-4 years. TC : Base:180k + s/RSU/Stock options: 250k + 20k Sign on Bonus YOE: 5 year (4 on front end + 1 Backend, offer is for backend position)
I don’t know if they’re going to IPO, but I do know that they are becoming vastly irrelevant in the logging space, especially when it comes to Devops. The money seems good, I would try and bump up the base a little bit to $200,000. With your experience, $180,000 seems a bit too low.
The engineering team culture is great. Very smart and collaborative people. Lots of opportunities and hard scale problems to solve. Sales have been great for a few quarters and accelerating even more now. Not sure what Mojoman means but the market does not seem to agree with this statement. Sumo grants stock options, not RSUs. If you Google, you can find the last round valuation that dates from 1 year ago.
Thanks for the info. Did the early employees get any opportunities to sell their stock options till now?
Nothing systematic that I know of though some early employees left and, considering the current FMV, I would be surprised if they have not used a second market service like Sharespost.
250k per year or for 4?
the RSU valuation is worthless without seeing their cap table and/or 409a valuation
