Super sad that I turned down an offer

Had offers from MS (TC: 250k) and Uber (TC:300k). Declined MS offer because I thought it was low, but then regretted it because of the WLB and commute. Asked back for it, but it was gone. Super sad now :( Is there anything I can do?

What abt uber?

Amazon kgdjg OP Aug 5, 2019

What about it? I accepted it, but I'm not happy. I really wanted MS.

You did not clearly state in your original post that you spurned MS for Uber. Or the reasons why. Recommend editing post and adding details. Otherwise no clue what you're looking for here. All we know is you chose Uber over MS for 50k more but an insane 1 hr commute each way. Pretty bad move IMO. You're not making a lot of sense thus far.

Why regretting a low declined offer?

Amazon kgdjg OP Aug 5, 2019

It wasn't really that low. The difference is not much and I feel it's not worth the WLB.

Agreed. My friend joined Uber and left after 11 months, he had close to 900k in equity at the time, he couldn't tolerate the culture.

Move teams?

Amazon kgdjg OP Aug 5, 2019

I haven't joined Uber yet. I don't know the team. Or did you mean get an offer from another team at MS?

Amazon kgdjg OP Aug 5, 2019

If the latter then I don't know how. A recruiter contacted me while I was in the period of "declining the offer" and told her about it, and she just said ok.

Apply?

To what?

To work there

Axed your own feet... Hopefully you'll learn and get another offer from MS. On a side note, only the people in CS industry are so entitled that they can afford to do this.

Why don’t you just apply to Microsoft again? Or try applying somewhere else?

Amazon kgdjg OP Aug 5, 2019

How can I re-apply now? Isn't the cool off period 1 year? Also I really don't want to go through the whole interview process all over again and waste another month.

Apple tWBu16 Aug 6, 2019

You can re apply now. Just tell them what happened. Reach out to them
