Switching to PM role
Some background first. I worked for 2 years as swe in India and then did my masters and currently swe 2 for about 1.5 years. My role is applied ML and the work impacts users massively but very little collaboration with PM. I got to know about PM role during my masters and did quite a few projects where I took on that role. But that was all in non professional setting. I am trying to figure out right now what would be the best way to switch to a pm role. 1) Try switching within Twitter? Not sure how will that go or how long will it take because right now my role has zero interaction with PM. 2) start interviewing outside - Google, Amazon etc. Not even sure if I'll get a call.
Also checkout the salesforce job board I think I saw an einstein PM role( may be with the AI background you may have luck) would have offered referral but not sure with the anonymity here how that would work

I would start by having a conversation with some PMs in Twitter; to get their insight. Also, if there are open roles; it might be worth setting up an informal meeting with the hiring manager to discuss the possibility. Many times people look for SWEs looking to switch roles; so I wouldn’t rule Twitter out.
