I am looking for an online course to brush up my skills for Big Data Architecture so that it helps me in my System Design interview questions. So far I have documented: 1. https://github.com/donnemartin/system-design-primer 2. Designing Data-Intensive Applications book. 3. Grokking the System Design Interview What I am looking for is an online course in say Coursera, Udemy, edx, etc with some hands-on project that will help me with System Design type questions.
That class you are looking for is called actual experience in breaking apart stories into tasks, and talking about pros and cons of certain design decisions and technology you have previously actually used
Sure, agree there is nothing better than experience. But in my job profile I don't have to work on scaling issues. Therefore looking to understand this topic in detail.
It’s kind of like those non-tech questions like “give me an example of a time you disagreed with your team and how you handled” you can’t study questions like that from a course they’re asking something about your actual experience to gauge likelihood you’re top performer in current role or not, same thing here, you can’t fake experience, if you want to learn sys design build a system, if your current role is not giving you those opportunities switch roles to where you will get those
There’s a good course called Grokking the System Design Interview on educative.io Super helpful info. Get rid of all the fluff and just straight info
Only for beginners. Low quality repetitive content.
Is it? Didn’t know
Grokking is low quality stuff
Why/how? What’s a better resource then
👀
Ooooo...sounds interesting..infact was thinking about going back to school for a PhD in data architecture...i hope someone can provide good recommendations....
So if blind community gives good recs, the PhD is out of the window?
One might say, OP really changed his life
