Got rejections from a few companies and right now only have a verbal approval from BB (Data License team). Haven't talked offer TC yet but I think my base will likely be 175 based on initial conversation with recruiter, and from what I understand 20-30k annual bonus probably? Have only been at current company for 1 year, initially started looking because we almost ran out of money, though we're fine now. My entire career has been financially unstable startups so BB's stability seems very tempting. Would really like to be at FB (phone screen next week), Google, Airbnb, Pinterest, etc but I honestly don't think I would be able to get through their interview processes, maybe even if I keep practicing for months. I have solved ~350 LCs, mainly medium, but I still can rarely do a hard under an hour. Eventually would love a relaxed place like BB when I have a family but for now I'm focused on career growth, learning, being around smart engineers. Assuming nothing else pans out should I take BB and enjoy WLB and finally some stable employment for a couple years then try again, or give up this offer and keep studying? Would also like to hear from people on the BB Data License team if they're on here. TC 160 4 YOE
don't sell yourself short. give yourself the chance to land on your dream team. BB is awesome but like you said not what you're looking for right now.
It wouldn't be a terrible idea to join bbg. Lots of people stay here for 1-2 years and then make a jump to faang. You could also just try to interview with these other companies now but you'd have to keep bbg waiting a while and I don't know if they'd want to wait that long
