Will companies like Intel, AMD, Nvidia wait for 3-4 months on H1B transfer? I will be applying in Vermont Service center so considerably less time (3-5 months) compared to California Service center. Since my experience matches very well with the job description I am thinking of taking a chance on H1B receipt, if things don’t workout will move to Canada permanently(long term plan is Canada anyway since there isn’t enough hope on HR 392). I feel like if my visa gets rejected for this position there is no hope I will ever be able to do H1 transfer.
I'm sure companies are well aware of the h1b situation currently and will definitely wait for the right candidate to have the h1b transferred. I think most companies hire for long term, so few months should be ok. Did you talk to the hiring manager yet?
I would agree unless they're in real hurry.
Not entirely true, teams take up projects based on head count. If there is a delay of 6 months ... That's the timeline we are seeing now after Sept 11, then it will become very hard for hiring manager to pursue with the candidate. Unfortunately we are in this situation.
I think most companies would wait. Those that don’t, likely don’t have a real long term need (or perhaps don’t headcount plan that far in advance?).
How long will it take to get the receipt?
