How long are your commutes and what do you find end up doing? Is working or reading a possibility? Or do people just sleep. Thx in advance
About to join G. Looking for apts in Oakland. I hear it’s between 1h to 1.5h from there depending when you go. Important to me is living 5-10 min walk from a shuttle stop. Not too worried. I’ve done long commutes on busses before. I don’t get motion sick from reading/looking at a screen luckily. If I had to drive or organize my own commute, I wouldn’t have joined G and would only consider stuff in the city.
Caltrain or carpool leaving at certain times is faster. I track the shuttles when I take alternate transportation to see if my alternate makes sense.
Sounds like a hassle. That whole coordination and organizing would just turn me off too much. I like routines. If I spend 10 more min on the bus but don’t have to check around or talk to anyone or figure out different connections, I’ll do that. I guess it also depends on where the shuttle stop is and how much it still needs to go in order to get onto the freeway. Fidi seems especially ill placed for fast freeway access.
I used to live on 4th in mission bay the train was quicker than shuttle. Also a new stop was just added. So add 15 minutes to an already long commute
Does FB have shuttle stops in South San Jose
Live in SF - 50 min morning / 75 min evening. I usually just sleep or fuck around on my computer or phone. Sometimes I get work done. The buses are relatively comfortable and comes with WiFi, so the commute is bearable.

Worried that our top performer is an attrition risk. How do managers handle this?
