Why tech companies in Canada don't pay high salaries?
America is #1 country
Taiwan numba 1!
Market. Next question.
I think the real question is why the us companies pay so much. I think Canada May be in line with the rest of the world.
It’s because America is #1 country.
Nailed it. After looking for a new job in many countries I moved to the US from Canada cause nutters here can't shove cash into my hands fast enough. Love me some Canada, but I love me some VC money too.
Tbh you see hyper inflated salaries on here. Tech companies pay in Montana is probably comparable to Canada. But you can also buy 10K acres of land in Montana for like 20K.... in SF .0001 acre costs 20K. Pay is always driven by surrounding costs and competition.
Low living cost, I guess? Don’t know how expensive there is though
Simple: cause it's Canada and it sucks relatively speaking.
Is this a serious question? First of all, where in canada? Tech salaries in the states aren’t high everywhere neither as many others pointed out. I personally know many developers in canada who earn a lot. Not parallel reality bubble Silicon Valley a lot, but plenty for the cost of life.
In US, I think the amount of investment in education (lots of colleges), R&D (lots of funding), building products (lots of startups) and attracting best talent from all over the world....makes it a competitive and aggressive market..
