What are the biggest tech companies that have any presence in Calgary? I know Amazon, Google, Msft, and other FAANG type companies have sizeable offices in either Vancouver or Toronto. Are there any such companies in Calgary? I would think Calgary being a lower CoL city but good size city is a good candidate to get away from the prohibitively high CoL in both Vancouver and Toronto. Besides, Calgary is so close to Vancouver and Seattle, it could easily be in a "tech hub triangle".
The wages in Seattle make up for the CoL. The weather is better in Seattle than Calgary too.
Depends on what you call "better weather". Calgary has more hours of sunshine than Vancouver or Seattle, where most days are cloudy and overcast.
Calgary Alberta is oil country. Don’t except FAANG there. Maybe SW jobs for the oils field.
Why though? There's nothing inherent in Calgary that should stop FAANG from setting up there. Lower costs compared to Vancouver and Toronto.
That’d be a question for FAANG 😊 So by the same token, you do think that they should open an office in every low cost location in North America?
I'm from Calgary and have friends working there. In general it's sucks big time with low pay and very few good companies. If you want a dev job in Canada move to Toronto or Vancouver since the job market is much better in these cities. If you want good pay move to the US. Also, if you want to live in Calgary work remote for a US company, since that's the best you can do there imo.

Tech jobs in decline because of …
It's NOT close to Van and Sett.
Well, it's closer to Vancouver than the Bay Area. In fact, in a 1000km radius around Vancouver, there only Calgary, Seattle and Portland. Calgary could be a great "satellite tech hub town".
