Are there any companies there? I'm moving back for family.
Microsoft 😊
Amazon has a decent presence there
Amazon, Google. A few start ups/small companies like cloudstrike, acorns, sendgrid. LA has more.
Cool! Thanks!
The Trade Desk has an office.
What's in it? I thought trade desk was only Ventura?
Pay is much lower in general. Specially, compared to seattle and Bay Area. Expenses are not that different though.
Housing cheaper than Bay Area. Schools better. Weather better.
How do people survive in Irvine??
Housing is not cheaper
Housing is on par with Seattle. Not as expensive as San Francisco.
Any design focused companies or UX needs in Irvine ?
Healthcare tech in SoCal is significantly on rise.

You tryin to refer someone? <3 But also - how do you feel about everything currently happening over there? Heard about the changes to profit share and Activison driving towards pushing out more games quicker.
So I’ll be honest I’m dealing my own problems internally on my org which is causing me to leave and as well as the pay. I have seen first hand the discussions around MTX and the designers and team are very concerned but ultimately they can’t stop it , it’s more about implementing it in a way that doesn’t look bad or getting ahead of the bad press if they do it. Personally I could care less if it works, if it makes money hand over fist then they should do it. Blizzard for a long time just hasn’t been the games I played, mainly single player narrative driven games. But yes they are happening and honestly the shittiest part is while the company pushes for those initiatives and makes bank the employees still get below market pay(Riot pays a lot more).
