I joined Apple after my MBA (i had management consulting offers at the time but did not want to take it due to travel) Now I am thinking of going to Management Consulting for a few years. Will MC companies McK, BCG, Bain be still willing to hire, will they match the TC of 180k-200k ?
What role at Apple? Why leave?
Supply Chain Role at Apple, not getting the growth and challenges, very hierarchical, IC4 reports to M1,M2,M3 -> Director, I seldom get chance to present to top management and end up doing Analyst level work.
Sorry to hear that. I considered that role when I was recruiting last year and passed on it because I was wary of those issues. Your best bet is probably to reach back out to the contacts you made interviewing in consulting last year.
Ur base, bonus and Rsu is only 180 at apple?
Update your resume with your Apple experience. Then read it closely. Are you pleased with the depth and breadth of your tenure there? If you leave Apple now, will you feel confident about your Apple tenure when people ask you with great interest about the company? For example, if you think you’ll end up saying “I don’t know” a lot about how Apple works, then a sense of unfinished business may follow you. In that case you may be able to boomerang, but maybe not. Just be sure you feel you’ve learned enough about Apple before you leave. This is what I’m doing with Amazon. I’ve luckily worked on projects which hit many services inside Amazon, so after one year I can actually say quite a bit about how the Amazon machine sorta runs and fits together. I would not want to spend the rest of my career mentioning Amazon from my past, only to have nothing to say about it. Because the average person but also tekkie will always ask what it was *really* like to be there, and how did the company succeed. Same will go for Apple!
The MC firms will almost 100% not match TC of tech. In some cases they don’t even negotiate, the TC is set across the band levels. However McKinsey and BCG are your best bets for experienced hires
Agree they don’t give a shit about your comp, there’s no negotiating unless you’re coming in at Partner level

Best nickname for Bank Of America?
BCG is doing a lot more industry hiring recently. Bain historically does little to none. Reach out to folks in your network and ask around. You should be able to land an interview or two.
