Heard that research roles (R&D) have a high TC in the telecommunications space. Can anyone confirm this? What kind of background do you need for these roles?
Usually r&d requires PhD. But they don’t have highest salaries. Highest TC do have architect positions.
What's TC?
230-250 Redmond WA
AT&T DMTS is a L4 (VP) whose salary range is $180k - 280k flat (no N1-N4 CoL factor for L3+) I have never actually seen an internal posting for it (I’ve seen LMTS which is L3). My suspicion is it’s there as a poaching tool for external talent by invitation only. At that level, if you aren’t familiar with the patent application process, you’re not at that level yet, if you catch my drift.
If you’re external you can be hired on principal title. Highest for principal is around 230 base. Principal is L2. Ltms is mostly for internal promotions. Although you can get it externally if you have recognized publication, patents and know VP personally .
So would you think this posting is merely an empty gesture? https://www.att.jobs/job/atlanta/lead-member-of-technical-staff/117/12941227
Masters minimum. PhD usually
