Like Russian election hacking, it was a nothing burger? We also learned there might be more trolls than employees in the blind channel.
Yin, I hope you have read clause 5. Unless of course you have replaced the name with a random one. This is one Long, onerous contract
in fact he did not sign this agreement
No
The blind channel knew the date months before and had a $100 bet going on guessing the actual number that would be fired.
Someone here nailed the number back in March.
Did someone get the gift card?
Here in Brazil they fired a guy on the exec same day he completed 10 years of Microsoft.

I thought that LinkedIn, I mean windows phone, i mean jammer, I mean office365, I mean ... I don't know what I means.
I've heard of October and December cuts loom but nothing verified. Last week appears to be a reshuffle of talent. A quarter to evaluate performance. Then cuts. I'd imagine the account coverage would decrease in alignment with accounts which are dropping from 28k to 13k in EPG. Half the accounts, half the coverage, half the expense. Logic not facts.
If you think this is hard, wait till we have a recession. Current RIFs are skill set and focus shift. During recessions they cut to the bone.
They really don't value tenure. Once you get past 6 or 7 years it's not a matter of "if" you will get laid off, it's a matter of when. And it's not always about performance.

Avoid teams with only Chinese or Indians especially with a Chinese/Indian manager
It was a long time coming. Microsoft giant sales organization just needed to be downsized. Our Blind Channel blew up tho.
Dude, we are ADDING people in sales. Yes some are being laid off but that is because of skill set. We will have a lager number of employees in sales at the end of the reorg.
As Today..I'm not seeing the new roles. 10-15% of all up FTE from GSMO were RIF. Another 35% changing positions/scope...and 2/3% new position...even do in the long term I do believe is the right GTM..but we cannot denied that was at least 12-8% reduction. / Disclaimers it's that the 2/3% I'm talking about is posted position and what I know about open positions not yet publish in 1 specific area, so if in the coming weeks they said we will have something like Azure 300 or investment heads..could be right your point.
