Tesla Model 3 or Honda Accord?

I need to get a new car, and ideally would like a sedan; either a Tesla Model 3 or a Honda Accord. My Model 3 reservation should be available this year, but I’m not sure if it’s a good idea to get one this early. I love the reliability of Japanese cars, and the specs of the Honda Accord EX look really great. Which of these two cars would you get as someone in your mid-20s? If anyone has other suggestions for a good sedan in a similar price range, please comment

What’s your price range? The pricing on the model 3 is all over the place. How long do you plan to own?

Price range is anything under 50k or so. Ideally much less if possible. Will own it for maybe 5-10 years

I have an S and it is a great car!

That wasn’t the question. I’m also going to bet you don’t own a model s. If you do take a pic and authenticate it by placing your wallet on the hood. Hoping I’m wrong but there seems to be a lot dick swinging on blind. Someone needs to ask.

Tesla model 3 is pretty ugly TBH. I put a high expectation on it before. I’d get model S or X.

Ah come on ! It's not that bad...

Spend 55k on a car once you own a place. In the meantime try to keep your monthly cost of living somewhat in check. You'll thank yourself when you're in your 30s.

You won’t regret getting the 3. Just don’t go full on the top-of-the-line version. Get the lowest version that’s available.

Do you realize the waitlist for model 3 is 4 years?

Microsoft maverickk Jun 18, 2018

Not if you've ordered on the release date !

Yea, but I assume the poster did not

Go for Lexus es300h looks great, non premium gas and the reliability and luxary of Lexus. All for under 50k. Gas milage is great too.

Are you single? Do you have access to another car that with range? If not, I would not go electric.

I would go for a hybrid, if you're trying to go green. Otherwise, some cheap car to keep your monthly payments low. You'll be happy to see later that the low monthly payment helps you with affording a higher loan amount to buy a house (and rent out other rooms to friends)

I get the feeling he wants the Tesla not because it’s green but because it’s a Tesla. The green part is a nice side effect.
