Tesla Model 3 or Honda Accord?

I need to get a new car, and ideally would like a sedan; either a Tesla Model 3 or a Honda Accord.

My Model 3 reservation should be available this year, but I’m not sure if it’s a good idea to get one this early. I love the reliability of Japanese cars, and the specs of the Honda Accord EX look really great.

Which of these two cars would you get as someone in your mid-20s?

Nothing extraordinary about owning a model s. Just keeping people honest.

Yeah color was hard for me to pick. I had 3 that I seriously considered... white, black or silver metallic

The Tesla colors all look nice I think on the model s

Spend 55k on a car once you own a place. In the meantime try to keep your monthly cost of living somewhat in check. You'll thank yourself when you're in your 30s.

This is not true. If you're in the US. It's by the end of this year if you reserve today

  • After driving Honda Accord for 3 years, Lexus rx350 for 2 and tesla model 3 for 5 months of ownership..

    Model 3 hands down man..

Each car has it own perks but tesla is a beauty..

    I agree with other posters..

I would save the money and rather get a model s or x in future..

Price range is anything under 50k or so. Ideally much less if possible. Will own it for maybe 5-10 years

Yikes!! 5 - 10 years is quite a long time. I was going to recommend an Audi A4 premium plus, but I think the accord is going to be your best choice. Nice car, super reliable, affordable.

Thanks. I do really like the A4. How many years would that car be good for ?

Not so much years but miles. I think they’re reliable but the maintenance is expensive (not oil changes but things like brakes, control arms, water pumps). If you can keep it under 60k miles then it’s a green light. Great value for the money IMO.

You can get a courtesy Audi A4 from Livermore audi for a good price. Actually looks like all the A4’s from a few weeks ago are gone but there’s a prestige A5 sportback for under 50k

I would go for a hybrid, if you're trying to go green. Otherwise, some cheap car to keep your monthly payments low. You'll be happy to see later that the low monthly payment helps you with affording a higher loan amount to buy a house (and rent out other rooms to friends)

I get the feeling he wants the Tesla not because it’s green but because it’s a Tesla. The green part is a nice side effect.

Tesla model 3 is pretty ugly TBH. I put a high expectation on it before. I’d get model S or X.

Go for Honda and save money for better things like house or kids or vacations. If you got everything covered still buy Honda. You might regret with Tesla but never with Honda Accord.

Are you single? Do you have access to another car that with range? If not, I would not go electric.

Go for Lexus es300h looks great, non premium gas and the reliability and luxary of Lexus. All for under 50k. Gas milage is great too.

You won’t regret getting the 3. Just don’t go full on the top-of-the-line version. Get the lowest version that’s available.
