Heard that tesla doesn’t offer many benefits. What DO they offer though? Vehicle discounts, cheap lease options, commuter benefits, mobile bill pay etc. please comment if you know
The benefits worth mentioning are 1) health benefits 2) ESPP - employee stock purchase program. Stocks purchased at the cheaper price of 2 times a year with a 15% discount 3) free drip coffee 4) no lease fees or interest with model-s lease (not on model 3 - model3 can only be financed)
Like other people said there's no free food (and lack of options), long working weekends, expected to work weekends/holidays if necessary, competitive environment, not enough parking, no 401k matching, paycut compared to other companies, and not much employee appreciation.
However, these lack of benefits are forgiving and negligible by the company mission and goal for accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy.
Apple doesn’t have free food either* - how good is the cafeteria and how much does lunch cost? At Apple it’s pretty good and lunch costs $9-$10 for me.
There's catered food (pay by weight which usually comes out to $10) that is sometimes good but not all the time, a salad bar($10), and 2-3 food trucks on site everyday ($9-14)
Food is pricey and gross! They need to get better options. Tesla has some of the hardest working employees around and y’all deserve better meals! Only good food was at the newer locations by Fremont. Free cereal at Fremont is okay and of course all the soda and coffee you want! Ex-Tesla employee speaking.
Thanks for the replies but I haven’t found anything useful here.. again a bunch of people from other companies talking bout lack of benefits at tesla. I know that. I am looking to hear from tesla employees on the few benefits of any.
Healthcare is the cheapest it’s been compared to the last two years. Commuter benefits at $130 (pretax so you do pay a little for it). Free shuttle from SF. You can claim your mobile expenses back if you can justify that your phone is used for work purposes. Parking is a nightmare. Even if you live 5 mins away you have to park remote to take a shuttle in! Unless you have an electric car or start work at 5am you won’t get a spot in the main lot. It’s frustrating enough that employees consider buying Tesla’s just for premium parking up front!
If your talking benefits as in health benefits, they are actually really good. I really haven't had to pay for anything and my husband has brain cancer.
If you lease model s or model x the fees and interest charges are waived off. Over the term of the lease I think it adds upto a significant amount >5k. You're given some small amount $5 i think if you bike daily to office. Mobile pay only for marketing, sales etc.
Other than that everything else is pretty standard. No free food, no benefits like Google/fb etc.
Thanks. This was helpful. I don’t really care about free food etc. those are good to have but not important when you think about your career and growth. work and the culture have to be exciting and seems like it is.
Healthcare is good in most of Elons companies because they self insure. This is smart because the the work force is largely young disposal fresh grads.

Thanks for the response. I heard a lot of people say this on Glassdoor.
