Thank you email after interview?

I’m a product designer in NYC who has been interviewing and getting to the final stages in the process. Do you typically send thank you emails to everybody you interviewed with in-person? Do you think it makes a difference?

It’s fine if you’re relatively junior; signals that you’re detail-oriented, sincere, and comprehensive. If you’re more senior don’t do it. It signals that you’re a little desperate. The one thing people look for in senior hires is confidence.

Don’t. It’s usually a sign of desperation and makes you seem thirsty. If you get an offer it takes away from your ability to properly negotiate

Send a general thank you to your recruiter.

Just be yourself. Nobody will look down on you for sending a one line thank you. Nobody has time to care if you don’t.
