The answer my friend, is blowing in the wind

Being a nice person is free and it doesn’t involve any cost. Loving everyone is free and is cost free. Treating everyone with respect is free and no money is needed. Empathy is free and it is good for you and the people around you as well. Smiling is extremely liberating and changes the world around you. Seeing the good in everyone helps transform you into an eternal optimist. Yet I see people in workplace behave like assholes and do unethical things to boost their ego and make them look better. To make things worse, People rarely smile. Why don’t people realize we are all stardust, we came from nothing and we have nothing to lose? I wish people pursued compassion and freedom instead of money.

You are now in the “acceptance” phase of Kubhler Ross. Kudos.

I can write a tldr for this but by experience no this is all bs.. the sooner you understand that everyone is for themselves the better it is for you and your happiness. If you have to look for others to change for your happiness or behave in a certain way no.. This is not a movie and we are not paid actors that we will smile.. we have other problems and issues to deal with..

Agree with this in some ways, but can see where OP is coming from. Cost is relative, reaching out to someone with kindness and being left on read (literallly or as an analogy) may have some emotional cost. People cope in different ways. Some have to come to terms way earlier than others, some up till now still haven't and maybe never will. Be kind, but understand that it takes a lot more to be kind depending on your experiences. : )

Wonder why would you tell the truth freely to some random people? Why not let them find out and pay their price? Better yet, if they stay naive, isn’t that good for the rest of us who are more realistic?

It's a well known fact that emotional intelligence level is relatively low among engineers.

The kind of freedom most people want comes from having money. Dealing with stress is hard and people react differently. Also, not everyone is good at empathy. For those interested, I’d highly recommend stoicism. https://tim.blog/2009/04/13/stoicism-101-a-practical-guide-for-entrepreneurs/

In reality the more money you have the more you're a slave of those money. Real freedom comes when you have nothing to lose. But that usually makes people unhappy.

Spoken like someone without FU money.

You are not special. You're not a beautiful and unique snowflake. You're the same decaying organic matter as everything else. We're all part of the same compost heap. We're all singing, all dancing crap of the world.
