The end of cloud(era)

Cloudera CEO exit, falling revenue projections, clients withholding renewals, what’s next for the company? Shares are down 40%. Seems like sinking ship.

They'll bounce back unless someone swoops in and buys them while they're a discount. In part depends on who is buying MapR.

It’s called “math”. Maybe you should try it.

These are actual conversations I’m having with customers.

Don’t throw your ignorance around. It’s unbecoming.

And as if it’s that easy to move cold data to warm data to hot data. It’s all “Marketechture” folks. And all this coming from the cloud provider which had HDInsight for salvage. If memory serves right wasn’t that Hortonworks that came to rescue ;-)

Let the hype cycle hit the trough, and it’s back to hard metal.

As T/C/NAMs (which you both clearly appear to be), you should be most aware of where the market is heading. You might parrot the same message all day long, but it's important to not delude yourselves. Good luck mates!

With CDP, moving to the public cloud is not necessarily a headwind to Cloudera

What does Cloudera offer over the cloud saas data platforms and/or Spark/Databricks? We switched from Cloudera to Snowflake/Spark and they blow the legacy system out of the water.

The combined platform of CDP as well as on-premise CDH/HDP is an offering no competition has. Where will all those customers go who need this hybrid platform. Cloudera is here to stay guys.

Cloudera will be here not just to stay but to thrive, with CDP!

Both of them are sinking ships too. Very arrogant leadership and unethical culture.

Perhaps better patch management based on recent events? 😅😉

Don’t think that’s the case with orgs like Databricks/Snowflake and other managed services
