I voted for Democrats every single election for 4 years since I got my voting rights. I leaned left, although not far-left. But the amount of illogical positions and the blind hatred has made me switch forever. Bill Maher goes to explain why Republicans are the problem. This - is why people voted for Trump. Don't blame the red states. Blame your own left-wing journalists and the Mainstream media that you love so much. Blame Rachel Maddow and Don Lemon. Blame the Hollywood. They worked together to push independents like me away from the left and helped elect Trump.

I'm still an independent, and I will keep voting MAGA until the Democrats can get their shit together.

Also, fuck Warren 1/2020 th.

I’ve not only been a democrat my whole life, I’ve also actively participated on politics, raised and donated thousands to liberal causes, been published in newspapers with pro-liberal op-eds and my former roommate and one of my best friends was a director on both Obama’s and Hillary’s campaign.

Owlwise, when i see comments like yours, it cements the decision by democrats like me to halt all support. I am sure as hell not voting for Warren 1/2020th, or any of the other Dems right now. Maybe if Sherrod Brown runs, or when AOC is old enough, and the dems can put authentic candidates forward I can vote for them again.

In the meantime, putting a bunch of phonies up on the ballot under the platform “anything but Trump” is a great way to get me to vote for Trump. Your kneejerk TDS is a great way to make me proud of that vote.

Being a member of the Democratic party in 2019 after supporting them so many years is like being an avid Lance Armstrong fan for a decade and then learning he was a doper. F*ck the phony democrats, seriously.

Right but you still didn't answer what liberal politicies of Democrat party you actually supported which makes me think you were deluded somehow. There's nothing in your response about why you were a Democrat to begin with given its history as the party of the New Deal, of Obamacare, of higher taxes on the rich, all policies that would be considered extreme left now.

All your rant tells me is that your feelings were hurt somehow by the Dems.Im glad Trump finally made you discover and embrace your true self as he did with many others. There's no one forcing you to vote Democrat, just don't hold your breath that its going to become the party of rich, powerful and corporate interests like the Republicans.

He could get reelected but save me the tales of what the regular people believe. He lost the people's vote by 3 million last time, won't be surprised if it's 6 million in 2020.

      Won’t matter even if it’s 8 million
As long as he wins the electoral college
Maybe if Dems play the game and campaign in Wisconsin rather than relying on California and New York they may have a chance

So, my friend who was a director on Hillary’s campaign had an option to work anywhere on her campaign. She could have gone to Wisconsin, or Pennsylvania, or Ohio.

She chose NYC, the campaign HQ, because it was a big cool city. I am from Ohio and asked her why she didn’t go there and her response was “ew.”

Most liberals concentrate in big elitist citadels, thinking they are too good to engage with the rest of the country. The rest of the country is populated with heathens, and the liberals are the elite priest class who will show them the light (in their eyes). This is why they remain out of touch with the country. Twitter and celebrity speeches don’t put food in the bellies of midwestern folk who have had NAFTA crush their local labor market.

Owlwise, maybe you should go travel to west virginia or wisconsin and learn how real Americans live. The democrats are so disconnected from reality, and so stubborn in their refusal to engage with it, that it is only to be expected that they are still in denial of Trump’s victory.
      Feb 10
    • TripAdvisor owlwise
That's a silly argument to make since Democrats are the ones who gave the people of west Virginia and Wisconsin healthcare, social security and labor unions. NAFTA was a gift from the corporate 'centrist' pseudo Republican Bill Clinton and it devastated those regions even as it led to inequitable prosperity. Now you rant against Democrats trying to return to their roots by castigating them as the extreme left.

It was stupid of Hillary not to go visit those states but its also revealing that you rant against Twitter and celebrity speeches while voting for the Twitter celebrity and reality tv star Trump.

I never said i voted for trump. Because I did not.

You are are basically campaigning for him. Every word out of you makes me want to vote for Trump, because it crushes my prior belief that the Democrats were the party of reason, integrity, and intellect. The TDSers are neither reasonable, intellectual, or living with any integrity. They lash out, use logical fallacies in all of their arguments as you do, often presenting artificially weakened versions of the other person’s point and then debating that instead of the actual point because they are too weak to engage meaningfully.

Keep campaigning for Trump. Go ahead. Worked great in 2016. When Trump wins again in 2020, because people couldn’t imagine siding with a party as annoying as the Democrats and all its enlightened SJWs, you can thank yourself. Trump will too.

Here's a fun challenge for you... Everytime you hear one of Trump's positions stop and ask yourself "Is that what he actually said or was that an interpretation ?"

For bonus points ask "Is this interpretation from someone who hates him?"

@OP In what ways did you lean left?

And what makes you think the DNC has gone Left when they colluded to sabotage Sanders and are working behind the scenes to reassure industry that they can control AOC and water-down Medicare for all - like how Obama helped save the insurance companies?

It’s the population who are going Left and have been for the last decade. The politicians are just trying to prevent a left-wing version of the tea party.
