They've treated me pretty badly but I still wonder if a recommendation from anyone would be useful in the future. Anyone else working for an Indian contractor decide to just up and leave?
Whatâs the issue with 10.30 am
Well if you are citizen/GC just quit on day's notice else you don't want to burn the bridge. I guess you need them. US citizen or GC holders don't take shit of desi companies.
Yes I am a citizen so no visa bs. I'd at least want to stay a couple days to help out my Indian counterpart, almost feel like brothers with how crazy this assignment has been
Pls bro just quit. More you feel more they exploit you.btw why you feel let down.Large program undertaken by desi companies often are total mess. They are almost always driven by offshore leadership team.So they always have some kind of gaps.
So youâve stuck it out, I assume, way longer than 2 weeks, but you canât stick it out the remaining 2 weeks? You sound like a punk. Stick it out.
I work at Infosys and yeah, not pretty here but if possible, turn in your 2 weeks today and get it over with. Not worth burning bridges even with a non-US company because you will run into one of them in the future. Just my 2c.
I think that's what I'll do
I am surprised you didnt expect this. You would have noticed something is wrong when you see almost all of them are from India with no US degree. Consulting agencies are known for this for a long time and almost everyone I know in tech heard about this. You might want to broaden your tech network to get to understand about tech industry in general. Consulting agencies are last resort you go when you are on Visa and canât find any jobs or you donât have degree but want to make good money than you would in India. Most of them donât even have degree in computer science therefore they focus on one area such as database admin. If you are citizen, consider working at government or college if you canât pass interviews for other ordinary tech companies. They wonât ask algorithm questions - rather focus on your resume. Stress free environment though salary might be small.
What benefit do you get for not giving two weeks notice? Typically people aren't giving notice when they're just walking out due to some conflict or they have some other issue with start date for the other job or something else.
I get to leave a toxic environment two weeks early. No more sadistic managers or midnight calls. I get to sleep and breathe easy again.
Let me guess, itâs outside of UberEats range? Whatâs toxic about it?
