Hate to admit as an Asian, but cheating in our culture is real. It happens since like, idk, elementary school?

I am trying to break that psycological cycle too, but it is hard when cheating has became a habit.

Why is there a culture of copying ideas over at Chinese companies?

It's quicker and more efficient to copy than reinvent.

Wasn’t there a similar case where an Apple engineer transferred a bunch of top secret self-driving docs to his personal Mac and his wife’s iPad and quit to go work for a Chinese startup? They arrested him at the SJ airport IIRC.

Couldn’t have stolen with a slightly more sophisticated strategy? Like idk, steal private keys of an ex employee, setup a series of proxy VPNs to obfuscate data destination, fake a cloud attack from Russian hackers. Or just report laptop “stolen”

There are companies where innovation is not possible, something is missing, can’t say what is missing but stealing is the only option

How much did he get paid? I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often. Tons of companies have access to sensitive data from employees who could easily steal the goods and resell to the highest bidder. Or maybe it does you just don't hear about it.
