I was close to being homeless myself at some point, and unless you've been through such conditions I can see why it's difficult to empathize with people whose lives have spiraled out of control. I do think that we need to do a better job with drug addiction and mental health issues.
The only ethical thing Uber Liberals could do in this situation is shoo them away to places that are cheaper like Texas. Think about it. There is absolutely no path forward for these people in SF. If a person making $120k is considered low income and has to spend over 60% of their income on housing what is a homeless person going to do? Get a job in the city and walk 20 miles to work? Or get a job in the city but remain homeless? Cause they sure can’t get a job somewhere else while they are in SF.
