Thought: Facebook isn't a tech company, but a tech heavy social networking/social media company
As I'm graduating from college(computer science), a few of my friends tell me that I should take Facebook's offer because it's a great and in demand "tech" company.
In my opinion, Facebook isn't a tech company. It's a social networking company. It's all online, so there's a lot of technical things to be done to maintain it and give it new features, but I still feel that isn't not tech.
Something like Cisco is a tech company. They have solid products. Google is a tech company, because their initial algorithm is a big technological feat.
I compare Facebook to Hi5 and MySpace, but it's lasted longer and is more successful.
Do others agree with my opinion?
