Seems like they're pretty serious about doing some market share grabbing off the Valve Mafia.

People use Steam out of choice, because Steam is the superior product. Yes they take a large cut, but developers are not forced to sell their game on Steam exclusively, or use it at all for that matter. Epic is removing that choice, saying you can only buy the games on their shitty product. Epic is virtuous now claiming they care so much about developers, but in reality they just want market share. Should they succeed, guarantee you they’ll raise their cut. Slimy company.
What makes you think it’s slimy? What’s wrong with getting market share? Did you use Steam when it first launched? https://kotaku.com/steam-is-10-today-remember-when-it-sucked-1297594444
The difference is that there is no such thing as a Steam exclusive that Steam forces. I started using Steam out of convenience, not because they forced me to, like you guys are doing.
