Thoughts on Stadia Team?
Curious what are people’s opinion of the Stadia team and the product overall? Also in general if you moved from Microsoft to Google, did it meet your expectation? Currently have an offer from the Stadia team (non-tech) and honestly really struggling with the decision. Love my team, love Seattle, love what I am doing, and Microsoft has been good to me. The Stadia offer though feels like a dream job given I am a hardcore gamer and they are giving me a sizable bump comp wise. TC: 170k
Have you tested the product? Do you think it will have market success? If you are mainly interested in Stadia then make sure you are reasonably confident it’ll be successful. If you’re fine with other teams at Google then moving is fine, since if the product is a flop you can always change teams.
Thanks for this! Honestly have not tested it but I know general feedback is “it works” and the Xbox team is taking them seriously. Success is another story but talking with friends at Google, they are investing heavily and hiring industry vets so it will not be for lack of trying.
If you love what you do, no don't do it. There is no guarantee you will be happy at the stadia though I know it is a great team.
Haha yeah that’s the tough part. It literally is the one job I would leave my current one and team for. Really appreciate knowing it’s a great team though, thanks for chiming in!

It's a tough choice.... I would say that if you make the switch and aren't happy, you have an amazing group of contacts here that you could come back to (your old team). Even if the team isn't together anymore each individual is one you can trust for input on their current teams and possible connections for a way back. Also to be honest, ask yourself if you say no would you forever regret it and play the what if game?
