Although many tech companies say they have no dress code it almost seems like there still is one with the basis of how others will perceive you, especially as a woman. That being said- what are the general thoughts on tops that show a bit of the stomach area to work? I feel most comfortable in these but am worried about how my colleagues will perceive me. Facebook has a huge “come as you are” emphasis so it seems okay to me but just wanted some thoughts.
Pls dont
Pls do (if you have abs). Else what the Uber guy said.
Lame
I suppose being a creep is the most effective way to discourage certain behaviors @Intel
the way you should dress at work is “Would I be ok if the CEO or an external media team saw me in this outfit?”. If no, then don’t. If you can somehow make it professional, i.e. you could give a meeting to external people visiting your office in it, then sure.
pls don't. I am a woman too. There's a certain degree of professionalism at work. imo this would not be professional.
What is that degree?
You might as well come in a bikini. I know men coworkers would love that.
Dress how ever you want sister!
I agree, dress however you want
I don’t have an issue with you showing off a little stomach but other people might
Curious why you feel more comfortable in these rather than, say, a t shirt, which is made of the same material.
Same reason why Chinese guys rock the Beijing bikini: https://www.thebeijinger.com/blog/2017/06/16/beijing-bikini-successfully-satirizes-chinese-custom-exposing-beer-bellies It's getting Hot In Herre.
Damn, that's hot!!! 🔥
I would not. No one will say anything but your professional career will be negatively impacted. If you want to get that promotion, dress like you earned it. I really want women to be respected at work, so please don’t wear a crop top. Earn the respect you deserve for your work. If you don’t dress like you earn your peers’ respect, you won’t get it.
You really want women to be respected at work, so respect em for their work. Why care what she is wearing? Just focus on the value she brings to the table! No man ever asks if he should wear 5” or 7” shorts to work. Get a life!
