I mean RenTech has got to be the best here right? It’s just that most people haven’t even heard of them
Depends on how you define "Tier 1". SIG, Optiver, and IMC (which you failed to include) are the industry's leading options MMs, but probably no one here would know that. Jane and Flow (which you also didn't include) dominate ETF MM/Arb. The firms that are actually making money and the ones that are kinda dicking around are pretty clear and cut if you're in the industry. There isn't a strong correlation between perceived "prestige" and comp, especially if you're a trader/researcher. That said, asking tech people about trading rankings probably isn't the best idea...
What company is Flow? Can’t seem to find them via google
Flow Traders
Aqr? Lol. Where’s PDT?
I somehow forgot that they left MS lol... it's been a while
If you saw the brand new Hudson Yards office of Point72, you would have most certainly put them on this list. It is Tier 0.
It’s not in the finance world even if they build a Palace for an office ;)
Good list, missing Five Rings Capital, started by an ex-Jane Street Capital employee. Also, Valkyrie Trading in Chicago is pretty good, Domeyard in Boston.
RenTech should be #1. They've had the best historical returns
No one beats rentech indeed
How hard is it to get a position at these kinds of places? Do you need to go to an elite school? What about a position at a FANG type company?
Tc is much lower than FNG except for the top 5 or so
What about Microsoft/Amazon/Apple -> prop shop/HF
Nice, we're winning
How about Voleon ?
