Apple has been shit for years now. No innovation since Steve died. It's effectively a Chinese cheap labor company. Good riddance
Regardless it’s still an important American business that employed thousands and is critical to infra in a lot of western countries. We need to force Apple to move their supply chain out of China
When a tech icon loses innovation and moves to service business, it's sign ending is coming. Look at IBM, HP. Apple needs Chinese market for iPhones sales to extend its relevance. Simple as that.
Being from Apple now, this is going to seem like I’m drinking the kool aid but this seems like it’s just operating within the regulations/laws of the country their operating in. From what I read (granted only the first few paragraphs) is that they blocked the news only in the country that said they can’t serve it in. They’re (we’re?) just cooperating under the laws of the country that Apple is doing business in.
Yeah I can see that argument. It’s nuanced. The thing is we are getting to a with us or against us situation which doesn’t have place for such nuance. Apple will have to make its decision. Either tim cool can speak truth to power or he can keep making money in a genocidal regime
Yeah I get that. The thing is that business and politics have always been pretty well separated. The current days are proving much different. So in my view it comes down to, do you think the future is going to be similar to the past or to the present. Personally I want it to be similar to the past. Seeing this happen before, since I’m relatively old, is that it will be similar to the present.
