Can someone suggest a good book about time management at work? I'm not planning to be the most productive employee. Just something about tasks prioritization and time scheduling. My problem that I work day and night when the task is interesting but when the prototype is completed I can't do the rest of the job.
Deep Work
Getting things done is a good one
Looks like I'm not motivated enough. I completed only the first 60 pages.
Yoe?
I started as perl/php freelancer 15 years ago but my C/C++ commercial experience only 10 years.
The book with the longest name I like to recommend. "The Power of Full Engagement: managing energy not time is the key to high performance and personal renewal"
One interesting way I could suggest you is to tie your office project milestones with some celebrations(shopping, buying an electronic item, trip etc) you're planning to do in your personal life. Follow it for small celebrations first, it'll help eventually.
Sounds more like motivation than a time management problem...
Agreed
Unfortunately, ordinary tasks should be completed too. I don't understand how people around me working on routine tasks. Of course, I can continue to write kernel level code or doing something else on a low level, but I will be fired on the next review :)
