Lvl 65 - Services 17 yoe 170k base/270k unvested stock/ avg cash yearly 120k Outside offer 300k base 100k sign on 200k bonus pool 90/10 split cash/stock in pool. Like my team at MSFT Could move internally. New role, new challenges, new place. Director role. Exciting and want to have career growth Non tech company. Company has a damn pension 100% 401k match up to max contribution Less travel More politics.
Which company if you don’t mind sharing. Just curious who still has a pension lol
This is what rest and vest mentality means at MS.
At these TC levels it's really not about money. It's about doing a job you're most excited to do and in an environment you like working in. I get the sense your MSFT job is an environment you like but you're more excited/intrigued by the outside offer.
Basically. Thanks for the input.
I have a higher salary than u at 63
I believe it.
Bullshit
The TC is so different between these two companies. Why need to think?
Not always about money, but thats is an aspect.
If you're close to fire, I'd stay and relax. New company, you gotta work hard again to prove yourself. Also politics sucks.
I would be sold at the non tech company alone. This is a chance to do something different after a successful stint at one of the top tech companies. Go for it and push yourself too grow.

Tried FSD for long drive 3000 miles. Its fuking awesome.
The fact that you’re asking this question means you won’t handle a director level job
Lol. I’ve already ran an org of over 300 Going to 20 folks isnt the draw. Getting outside opinions is something good LT does.
Poorly handling a large org does not qualify one to be a director. Just like being a butcher does not qualify one to a be a surgeon.
