I went to the second onsite interview (the first one was back in late June with 5 interviews back to back plus a presentation for 30 minutes + QA ). In the first interview results was good but the position was given to an internal employee, the recruiter told me that he will continue looking for a position that's fit me. After a while he contacted me and say that we can revisit my candidacy on January (also he will be out for a long time). Fast-forward to 1 month ago I got a email from my first recruiter (First contact was in May) and ask me if I was interested in a new position (same title) and I says yes. We start the process and 5 days ago I have done the second onsite interview ( 3 technicals interviews + a presentation for 30 minutes + QA) I sent thanks emails to everyone ( the interviews (thru the recruiter, the recruiter team, etc.) At this point I haven't received email, call or whatsoever from no body at Google. I already have my job so I'm not in a rush. My question is: is my case weird and out of time in all aspects? Or this happens regularly? I should wait for a rejection and keep my spectation low or is possible that i can receive an offer? I feel I neiled in both occasions. Please ask any questions All interviews had system design and coding questions Location: CA Position: DevRel
Swe? Location?
Post updated, thanks
How was the presentation? I'm considering applying for devrel. I hear the technical interviews aren't as hard as swe?
The first presentation was good but the second presentation was so good that everyone clap for about 20 to 30 seconds. And yes in this second interview the questions were 3 mediums.
Nice, great job haha so they give you a topic and you have to make a presentation on the spot? Also there's a full system design interview?
Also the first interview on the second onsite was a backtracking question (not hard but complicated)
Just got the call yesterday and was a rejection. They feedback was mixed ( yes the second time)
Thanks for the update.
Which role requires a 30 minute presentation as part of the interview?
Design. At least when I interviewed there 4 years ago.
