I never tip at Starbucks/Peet’s/Philz. Convince me why I should?
Cuz they need the bucks?
LMAO 😂🤣
Omg love this
Once again racist begots
At least I tip
Wow, you’re a jerk and you know it. Just hoping Blind effers validate you. This is why (er, one of the reasons why) people hate overpaid tech bros. Yup
And that’s why we’re constantly under attack from communities we gentrify.
They're already paid what their labor is worth. Why would I tip?
No bonus or stock for you. You already get your labor from your annual base.
Those are a negotiated part of my comp. Peer bonuses are not, but I could do without them.
They’re paid regular wages, not server wages, so unless they go super above and beyond, nah.
Do you get bonuses?
Any regular bonuses I receive is part of my employment agreement.
I tip my local coffee shop.
Surprised by the poll results so far as heavily leaning towards not tipping. Tipping $1 for a $3 dollar coffee is a bit stupid imo. Your idle chit chat doesn’t make you deserve a tip, nor does the cringey A vs B tip jar.
Can’t afford one, sorry. I’m saving up to buy one with all the non-tips though.
I tip them because I like to get a smile with my coffee every morning. Also because I talk to them and they have it much harder than I do. If me spending some money can help make a material difference in their lives then its worth it. And yes it does make a difference. Being selfish and cheap is so short sighted. Generosity always leads to better outcomes in the long term.
Say one doesn’t care about smiles or small talk. Just coffee in and out, would you tip for Order Ahead? Or Starbucks pickup? You arrive and your coffee is already ready to go and you paid in app. It’s not about being selfish or cheap, it’s value. What value is the 30% tip getting me?
I tip when I order online or order ahead. I tip at places that I won’t visit again. The value of having happier, better fed bottom 10 percentile of the population is something you will take too long to appreciate. When you do, it will be too late. The point is, even if I spend $100 on coffee tips every month, it does not make any dent in my life. On the other hand it adds meaningful value to the life of someone else. That is valuable for me and invaluable for me feeling human.
