Tired of posers at work!

I'm tired of working in teams with a bunch of posers & fuck-ups! There are some really amazing men & women at my job but somehow I never get to work with them! All my work & projects involve people who are 1) rude in general, 2) posers who bounce from meeting to meeting without any real work but world thinks great of them, 3) newly hired senior mgmt douches who insert themselves in anything that has some visibility & know shit about the product but keep harassing for delivery dates, 4) Dumb as fucking tree log Project Managers who set up million hours of status meetings! (Note - my company has some amazing ones but I don't have the good fortune of working with them). I came from a startup background into this mid-sized place. At the startup all were funny, super talented and actually hard working! Interesting thing is, all the above mentioned personalities in my case are women :( I can not change teams or get out of projects bcos I'm sort of the Team Lead that owns these specific products and senior mgmt does not want me to abandon them :( Some support from your experiences dealing with this shit will help me, before I end up screaming at one of them..."Do some fucking work, then talk!" Thanks.

Out of curiosity, which company?

Can't disclose. It's not one of the traditional FANGU ones. More like a non-tech company with its tech teams in Bay area.

Go back to startups and never go to a large company! You will be utterly disappointed and depressed!

Same situation, but all the mgmt douches are men.

If you don't mind sharing, any better ways to manage this circus?

I try to praise the managers and give them positive feedback. These kind of people ride on their egos, so they treat me decently. Still have to deal with the inefficiencies they create, though.

Keep working there and meanwhile get active on your LinkedIn. Wait for some promising company recruiter to reach out to you and then just move. They don’t deserve you if they don’t value you.

I now work at a startup. I don’t think I could go back to the bureaucratic mess of a midsize or large company. I would start looking for another job at a startup- there are plenty here in SF.

Planning to move to SF for the exact same reason!
