Toronto mid level dev salary negotiation

I am expecting an offer for a mid level SWE role at a tech company in Toronto. They said their salaries are between $100K to $120K. No RRSP contribution, no free food. I am thinking of asking for $115K is that sufficient to live there?

idnr no. I kind of want to leave MS too. I am okay with the pay cut, but I don't know how low is too low.

You should try and go for 150k at least in Toronto. Toronto is still a pretty expensive city op

idnr can you please give some justification. I know COL is high and taxes are jighh but it's still lower than Bay area.

Taxes are higher. CoL is lower only for rent and housing, but bills, food and car insurance is more expensive

As long as you're ok with never owning a home there you can rent and have a good time

In similar boat. Can’t compete with Bay Area salaries anywhere. What I felt in Toronto, it’s not cheap either, but salaries are pretty low.
