With 10 years of experience (3 as an engineer and 7 at enterprise startups in the bay area), what level and total comp should a senior pm be getting? I've tagged the companies whose comp I'm interested in, but would like to hear about pre IPO companies like Dropbox, uber, square, lyft. Thanks! I see engineering comp details but less about PMs.
Senior product guy I know at Dropbox made around $500k cash comp last year. Another friend, who runs business strategy there, made around $800k.
cash comp pre IPO at Dropbox? Director level?
Yes. Cash comp. Director level.
If you get L6, the package is typically around 150K-200K range.
150 is low for an L6, I don’t know anyone getting that...range is more like 175-230, which is still low but not that bad
Useful to know. L6 maps to group product manager or senior pm?
Sr. PM.
"senior PM" at Google means L7. That's at least 400k TC. This is the level you come in at if you founded a successful startup.
Thanks gglr
Are you sure. From what I remember from my google days, Sr PM was L6
At intuit 200-250 total comp for senior, non senior total comp just under 200 (level 2). I think group level is closer to 300 and director level another 50-100 above that.
Interesting.... What does the jump from senior pm to group pm require at intuit? How is intuit for product management?
At least 400K TC at Google
