Trade TC for life

Archangel's blessings: Trade x% of your TC for an extra 10 years of natural life expectancy. What's the maximum x% you'd be willing to sacrifice (and no more)?

The effect is irreversible; if you switch companies, you will only receive (100 - x)% of the best offer you could've gotten had you declined the deal. In other words, it's a permanent multiplier.

Can I discount the lifetime it took to figure out what you wanted in this poll?

What's the quality of life? Is it just 10 years added on when I'm already old and feeble? If so, 0%

If it's extending prime of life by 10 years then substantially more

I'd chop 20-30% then probably, more than that would likely have a negative impact on my quality of life

Why there is no negative options? Give up x years of life to make x% more TC :) blind crowd would love it.

I don't even make 50k, and I voted for 60%. I want to see where humanity will be in the 2100s.

We will. We've made it through millions of years; we're not suddenly going to all die in the next 100.

Indeed. It might be very worthwhile if you can survive the singularity.

Only if one wants to live.

I can trade everything for true happiness.

  • Responses will be heavily affected by current TC. 50% off 300k is easier to absorb than 50% off 120k or 70k. Most of Blind is early-mid career, so probably fewer mortgage and family cases raising cost of living on here to offset

Youโ€™re asking about getting a greater number of years but not accounting for intangible/hard-to-quantify factors like fulfillment, joy, etc.

Iโ€™d gladly die an extremely fulfilled, joyful 60 year old than die an indifferent, or outright unhappy 90 year old.

Until you can eat, sleep, workout and avoid medications it is good. Take care.

Do I get to know how long i'd live to begin with? Different answer for 50, 80, and 90 years. I'd give everything to live to 60, and nothing to live past 90.

Snap pays better than most ocmpanies I interviewed for. Would jump ship for Fang if paid 30% less and good team
