Is the trade war between the US and China good or bad? This includes things like arresting the CFO of Huawei and today’s news of China banning the sales of iPhones due to a Qualcomm lawsuit. Also the US warning tech VIPs to be cautious in China after the US detained the Huawei CFO for breaking sanctions with Iran. These things should be included because they were suddenly escalated. I doubt they would happen if we weren’t in a trade dispute.
No one wins a trade war.
Good. China’s current strategy is incompatible with western capitalism. If some short term pain is required to alter their path, so be it.
China is the acting protectionist. We need to stop trade until they open up
Since 1990 we have been subsidizing the Chinese economy with MFN status in the hopes they would grow up and embrace freedom. China political engineering is a total failure - the country is too primitive - the leadership is too insecure - too corrupt - the president recently rammed through dictator for life laws. We'll take back our factory jobs now, enough is enough! We will never reduce these tariffs - China is on its own now. The only thing they can do is to give up their communist dictatorship once and for all. Complaints about IP theft are only to bypass presidential powers limits. China blew it big-time.
LoL. Just by satisfying internal market, China will have no problems at all. Not to mention Africa’s and South America’s markets.
Bring It! Meanwhile looks like Trump is blowing it! https://www.forbes.com/sites/kenrapoza/2018/12/10/trade-war-update-china-subverts-tariffs-trade-gap-gets-wider/#3334f51150e5
Good for a UVXY heavy stock portfolio
