Say you're in finance (Citadel, Two Sig, ...) Doing tech or quant, and you move to tech in the Bay, are the skills as a SWE / quant that you picked up on wallstreet very transferrable or is it too niche? Would it be a career reset if you transferred over?
What about other way around? I'm moving from tech to finance. Have no idea what's in store
Most of these companies have crappy tech and underwhelming projects. If you manage to seek out and find interesting projects while you’re there then you’ll have no issues. Expect to spend a lot of your own time to learn cool new tech.
SWE skills are generally very transferable, unless you’re doing very specific work (low-latency, FPGAs, etc.) Quant skills are more industry specific
Worked for them for few years, not worth joining, engineering practices are not comparable to tech

What was your base pay increase this year
Depends.. I have seen people move from Finance to Data analysts roles easily.
