Hi all, I wonder if anyone has experience transitioning from an electrical engineering position to SDE. I am currently in a technical management role in the Air Force. My BS and MS are both in EE. I usually code in my job and for fun. Have taken online courses but don't have a formal CS background. How can I convince recruiters in FAANG that I can code? Very common
If you can get in the interview, then code. Otherwise shoot smaller, e.g. a startup. Then in 6-12 months you’ll look a lot better to big co
Pretty common. You'll do fine. Thank you for your service.
What school did you go to? FAANG recruiters like top tier names - schools or companies.
A small, somewhat well-known in the Midwest, undergrad only, engineering institution. For Master's it was at AFIT.
If you are a veteran most big companies have special recruiting channels. Definitely possible.
