Trip to Florida

Planning 1 week trip with my partner to Florida in January. So far I was thinking to visit Tampa, key west and Miami - 2 days each. Will take a rental car from Orlando and do road trip. Any other recommendation, do & don’ts? YOE - 6 yrs TC - 180k

Stay away from all ponds, puddles, lakes. Gators are everywhere.

Or go on a swamp boat tour in the Everglades and get to know the alligators up close and personal.

Skip Tampa and spend the extra two days in Miami and key west.

January is not hurricane season. But it rains a lot.

Can skip Tampa. Miami and Key West worth spending more time. Definitely check out the Versailles coffee shop. Look into Tortugas National Park. Worth spending money and time.

I don't think key West has that much to offer for a family. The beaches are Rocky and the town is full of bars. Two days is plenty there. Sarasota area is nice, along with crescent beach, if the weather is nice you will be able to play but it's too cold to swim.

All of the Keys are kind of touristy but Key West is a total tourist trap. Maybe try one of the others that has a better beach instead? It would also be a good time to take a glass bottom boat tour.

What kind of things do you like to do. There is something for everyone here. Including not so typical things like nude beaches which are totally different from swinger beaches which are all separated from the typical family - there is something for everyone beaches, food, fun, sun, water, boats, soooo many entertainment options its mind blowing. It all depends on your budget. I hope you have a great time! If I knew more about what you like - I’d make some very specific recommendations.
