Looking to get some tips on how you managed stress at work, while being at Amazon and also wanting to get pregnant. Hopefully women who read this post at Amazon won't post snark. If you do, I'll know you're not one of us :) For others, thank you for taking time to share tips and what worked / is working for you or just an acknowledgement that you're on a similar path..
I’m not in tech, I’m not planning on being pregnant anytime soon but I am a woman who have aspirations to have a family in the near future and I am in a high stress field. I would say it comes down to your partner’s support and the support from your management team at work, those two alone help tremendously in alleviating stress your job may present you. Never set aside your personal goals for a JOB, think long term. :)
Thanks this is helpful
As hard as it may be, you have to leave work at work. Don’t bring the stress and worry home with you so that the two of you can enjoy each others company. And don’t make sex a chore, because that will just stress you out more. Use traditional methods too (ie temperature tracking) to know when you’re ovulating etc for best chance of success.
Compartmentalize. That’s it.
Good luck and mazal tov when it happens :)
Anecdotal, but with us nothing happened for a year. Then we went back home on vacation for a month - 💥.
DedicAte time to meditate everyday. Start by meditating for 5 mins, increase to 10, 15 to half hour. Start doing prenatal yoga. This helps to relax the body and mind.
Thanks the stress is definitely not helping
Mental stress is the worst thing to put an unborn baby through, and might lead to premature birth and a lifetime of health problem. I know a couple cases and it's a lifetime of sadness and financial burden when a baby is born prematurely and unhealthy.
Go on a vacation during the high fertility time. Get that fertility app or the ovulation strips
Easy. Quit Amazon for a better company
Better is quite subjective. Plenty of women here at Amazon who are thriving. Quitting shouldn't be the only choice one has, especially if you're a woman. In addition this thread was directed at women at Amazon.

Spend more time with your hubby. Talk about off work stuff and plan to enjoy your sex rather than conceive. God has made us to multiply so trust his design. This is assuming you don’t have existing medical conditions that hinder conceiving. Consult your doctor who might suggest medications too.
