Which team?
Do you want to let us know your experience with the interview?
Depends on which role you apply to. Generally there's multiple sub-divisions all defined as data scientist but some involve more coding rather than product analytics. First is the recruiter interview, then a 45 minute technical phone screen with problem solving, SQL questions you can probably find on InterviewQuery.com, and maybe some algorithms coding problems. Then the onsite is a full day with lunch going over product case questions + modeling.
If the role is titled “product data scientist” its safe to assume it’s more product analytics focused? What level of algorithm coding and machine learning knowledge do you need for product analytics data science roles?
Look at the position description or ask the recruiter. Usually it'll say stuff like "deploying models to production" which will emphasize more of the algorithm coding and machine learning knowledge. If you see more stuff about "presenting analytics" and "diving into data" and "working cross-functionally", that generally means more of the product analytics work.
