Typical compensation in one the big tech companies in Seattle

What's the typical compensation like for someone with an MSc computer science + ~ 18 YOE, 80% C++ expert and 70-80% knowledge of high volume number crunching algorithms.

Not sure but from what I have seen here pretty high. Maybe some can give numbers

I have no idea what is an 80% C++ expert... can you numerically enlighten me please

If Stroustrup is 100%, I'm 80% on that scale :-)

Well that's quite impressive, I have to say - mind sharing what you do on the job or outside (e.g. open-source)?

C++ and high volume number crunching algos = High Frequency Trading Firms. They will give you big money if you have the right talent.

Yes, I've been recommended that a lot, just don't feel like moving that far...

Not even for a couple million dollar + yearly?

I 85% like the way you describe your expertise.

I'm honest, I know where I'm at on the scale, where I'm weak and need to improve myself.
