UX position Google vs Apple
A fresh PhD with engineering background here. I do user testing, behavioral data analysis, etc. and just got offers from both Google and Apple. Although I really like both companies, I need to turn one down.. Any advice?
Think about where u wanna live... Apple is in Cupertino. Also, it is open vs closed culture. Google also has likely a better worklife balance and faster shipping times.
I’ve been at both. How much of Apple’s koolaid have you drank? If a lot (or if you’re willing) then join Apple. Otherwise, you’ll be happier at Google.
Seriously, google for behavior data analysis :) Apple is way ahead of google in your area of expertise.
Google Wallet -> Android Pay -> Google Pay. Google just does not get user experience.
Do you mind sharing the details of the offers? Do you have industry experience?
First, ask yourself what you need from these companies to seal the deal... then go ask the companies for it. As general rule for huge companies, team and project are what will define your experience.
I am stepping outside my element here, but I would think that Google would have a better grasp on telemetry and data mining. Giving you better data to work off of.
