How do they compare? Can they go up as much as Dev salaries do?
Dev total comp tends to be a bit higher from what I've seen. They are still somewhat similar depending on the company.
For FB, base/bonus is the same for the same level UX/Eng. For RSUs it’s less - say if you are “greatly exceed” then you get about the same RSU as eng gets for “meet all”. So on average UX would get a bit more than half RSU as Eng. Source: Product designer got greatly exceed twice and reconsider (promotion) twice for the past 4 half’s.

Depends on the position. Dir of UX can make up to $240k base in my experience. Mid-level engineers and UX are about the same across standard companies, $110-$160k.
