I’m looking into different companies at the moment (Atlassian, Uber, FB, Bloomberg) Right now I want to know what salary I would be realistically looking at working at Uber in Amsterdam. I know Europe salaries are notoriously lower than those in US so I’m trying to see where I stand. Seeing as I’d be moving to a different country I’m expecting a bit of a paycut. Profile: -UX Researcher -6 YoE -MSc in Human-Computer Interaction from a top uni (think Georgia Tech, CMU, UofM) -Experience across startups, agency, healthcare and government -American and Italian Citizenship -Very strong portfolio -Strong in Python and R for data analysis What should I be expecting in terms of TC?
Why do you want to go to Europe? The demand for UX researchers in the Bay Area is really high right now.
I don’t really want to live in Bay Area (or America) at the moment
Around 80k base in Amsterdam
Not too shabby Thanks
Don’t forget that you’d pay taxes twice, once to the Netherlands and again to the US for whatever income you earn above the current foreign exclusion rate.
That's 100k which no one make in nl

11 offers to laid off[UPDATE]: 5 offers
Have you looked into actual openings or interview for any of them? A lot more likely to get responses and suggestions after you show an offer.
Ya good point. Right now I’m in the research stage of looking at different firms before applying. I just wanted to get an insiders look. Best I have right now is Glassdoor but sometimes you can’t trust what you see there
GD could be quite off... If you talk to people in those companies here in us they might be able to give you a ballpark range of comp deduction for EU.
