What's Uber's Android Interview like? I have what they've told me, but a concrete example of what it has contained in the past would be useful. Something like "you're given a laptop with Android Studio, and a scaffold app, and you need to create the components that do xyz..." would be a great amount of detail. I obviously don't want to know what it currently asks, but since everything I do at Google is so specific, I feel like a general purpose Android I might actually not be my forte, so knowing what exactly to prep would help a lot.
What is the scope of work on uber android app? How much can you change an already well built app
let builders build, we change everything on every app weekly or biweekly.
I do a fair amount of Android interviews for Uber. You will do 5 interviews during the in person. Data structures, coding, algorithms, architecture and the culture interview. I think in your question you are asking about the coding interview. In this interview you will be asked to build an app from scratch using whatever tools you usually use. You will have 90mins to code and then an additional 30min to explain your thinking. The prompt will be very specific on what you need to build, meaning you won't have to think about coming up with a cool/impressive app idea. I would highly recommend bringing your own laptop with Android studio booted up.
This is accurate. We want to see you in your coding element. We will provide the basic necessities for the app, you just have to build it from the ground up.
Uh no... 1. Data structures/algorithms 2. Android coding (build something on top of a bootstrap app, and discuss your choices) 3. OO/architecture/design 4. HR/cultural 5. Bar raiser (can be anything) One hour each. Could be in any order.

I'm not aiming for one. My recruiter said he wasn't sufficiently familiar with the details of the interview. His advice was to "make an app", which is sufficiently not specific that it could mean more or less anything.
