Could someone help me with the difference between Seattle and San Francisco location for Uber? 1. TC - breakdown 2. Interesting teams and projects 3. WLB
Seattle team is more chill (no dinner, office empty by 6), but from my opinion more political
Could you talk a bit about the teams in Seattle and interesting projects if possible?
If you’re L4 you should be optimizing for learning, not earning, and for that SF is the clear choice. I plan on transferring to the Seattle office at some point but only once I’ve developed enough as an engineer in SF.
Yes. I am looking to learn and find an interesting team for career growth. But at the same time I have to go with Seattle office because of personal issues. However, from your statement it looks like Seattle doesn’t have challenging projects as compared to SF. Is that true? Could you elaborate a bit?
They do. It’s still totally worth it. The SF office just have a lot more opportunities.
Seattle office does have some awesome projects but i think what @awesomo said is spot on. The office hired mainly from Microsoft and amazon so it’s VERY political.
That would be pretty hard for me. I would be coming from a company which has no politics, or at-least politics at my level.
